MIND-BODY HEALING TIPS FOR CHRONIC PAIN RELIEF

Use your Mind to Manage the Pain

Mind-Body Healing Tips for Chronic Pain: When someone tells you to think positively, never underestimate the power of their words. Changing your mindset may not provide instant pain relief, but it will help you turn your life around in the long term. My big moment was when I changed my attitude and signed up for Rehab. After years of being addicted to pain medication, I went from zombie to warrior in just a few days. Only you can change your reality; every one of us has the ability.

Allow me to share with you the knowledge I have built over the years in the hope it will help at least one of you in your battle against chronic pain or addiction. Reach out, connect, and share your story with me. Your interaction and feedback keep me going!

5 Mind-Body Healing Tips for Chronic Pain Relief:

1. PRACTICE BREATHWORK TECHNIQUES

Deep breathing reduces pain by increasing airflow into the body. Decrease feelings of depression, stress, and anxiety, and allow your body to release the tension causing your muscles to stiffen. Deep breathing techniques have played a crucial role in my recovery and still help me daily. Becoming aware of your every breath is a mindset worth learning.

2. EXERCISE YOUR MIND THROUGH MOVEMENT

Learn how to exercise your mind and body simultaneously while incorporating breath control, meditation, and movements for stretching and strengthening muscles. Yoga is a fantastic way to practice all the above and offers countless benefits to the mind, body, and soul. Taking time out every day to breathe and meditate is one of the best moves you can make in your pain relief strategy. Keep breathing, keep moving!

3. FOCUS YOUR THOUGHTS

The first thing I had to change before achieving anything positive was my mindset; I had to ‘Think Positive!’ to find the motivation to make an action plan. In a state of angst or depression, our minds focus on the negative aspects of life and force us into dark headspaces. From experience, I know how hard it is to get out! It is not easy, but every single one of us has the power to do it. As long as you want to change, you can. Do whatever it takes; go for a walk in the park and appreciate your natural surroundings; stop to do a few stretches; sit on a bench and watch the world go by. Spending time outdoors is a free and natural way to clear your mind. With a clear mind, you can achieve anything.

4. INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY

Changing the way you think then affects your behavior. If you are not thinking about how much you want to lie in bed all day, you won’t. Likewise, if you are thinking about how to do your best today, act on your instincts and do what you need to do. You don’t have to work fast and risk causing yourself damage; choose a pace you can work to and stick to it. Good things happen when you begin thinking differently and opening new doors.

5. RESET YOUR MINDSET

If you live with chronic pain, you may know that keeping your immune system fueled with the right ingredients will help you alleviate a lot of the pain you are going through. The other most important thing to remember is, ‘Rest is Key’. An exhausted mind creates a chaotic and unproductive life; take your sleep seriously and stay on the ball.

Living with chronic pain can be difficult, but by incorporating these mind-centric methods into your routine and working with your body and its limits, you can take control of your pain and improve your overall quality of life.
